iNED 1.3 Release Notes - 11/14/2005
This document describes the changes in the 11/14/2005 iNED release, compared to the previous
10/18/2004 release.
This release was primarily to support some new hardware components: the new Network Device
Server, and NEDstations and SmartPorts sold after 11/1/2005. Older versions of the iNED software
should not be used with these products.
Video Commander and all of the other iNED client programs (Device Setup, etc.) now share a
common Program Settings dialog. The various settings are organized in a list by application,
with in some cases server-specific or user-specific pages.
The "Add Hardware" wizard was allowing you to create multiple routers at the same address,
something which Device Setup will not let you apply. Similarly, the wizard would allow you to create
router names which are invalid. The Add Hardware wizard now performs checking for name and address
conflicts on the pages where you enter the information.
Making large-scale changes in Device Setup could appear to fail, with the iNED Browser and the Video
Commander Object Palette not showing all of the devices you created. This has been corrected.
If you chose signal types in the "Add Hardware" wizard other than "Video,"
"Left Audio" or "Right Audio," they were not being set up as "default"
signals. As a result, routing devices with such signals would appear to do nothing, unless you
chose the signals explicitly using Break Away or Connection Details. This has been corrected: any
signal you add through the wizard is now automatically included in the set of default signals for
routes.
In Video Commander, if you have either of the confirm options turned on for unroute, you would be
prompted each time you selected a device for unroute... although you were still required to click
"Done" after confirming your choice. Now you are only prompted when you click "Done"
(or double-click the device button).
If you downloaded a file from a VideoTizer, larger than around four gigabytes in size, to a hard
drive that doesn't use the NTFS file system, the download might fail, and the file would fail to
upload. This has been corrected.
