At IRIS Technologies, our goal was to make connectivity as simple as the touch of a finger or the click of a mouse, and manageable for even the least techno-savvy user. And that's exactly what we did when we created the world's first icon-based electronic routing system, the Video Commander. Since its first introduction in 1988, the Video Commander system has grown in both capability and flexibility, and yet has retained our unmatched ease of use.

We manufacture our own signal and device management hardware to work optimally within Video Commander systems, to meet our exacting standards, and to be both reliable and easy for our customers.

About IRIS Technologies

IRIS Technologies is a privately held company that develops, produces, sells, services and supports PC-based control hardware and Windows-based software for the diverse communications market. Our software and hardware systems enable users to manage, access and control communications devices and to distribute, connect or route signals to and from these devices. VCRs, DVD player/recorders, cameras, CD and laser disc players, audio cassette recorders, satellite receivers, modulators, electronic test equipment and much more can all be managed by the company's unique, patented system. We market our system as a combination of software and hardware under our flagship product, the Video Commander--the world's first icon-based device routing system, operable from anywhere in the world. But we're not stopping there.

We at IRIS Technologies believe that the power to control information should be limitless. But we're also committed to the idea that the technology involved should be simple enough for anyone to use, regardless of his or her technical experience. As an example, our Video Commander routes information through an icon-based system so simple that a novice can operate it, yet so advanced that we hold the patent on it.

At IRIS Technologies, the drive to reach these goals is more than the reason we exist. It's more than a corporate philosophy; it's a personal challenge. That challenge is the reason IRIS Technologies team members approach their work with passion. Each day presents us with another opportunity to excel, to prove ourselves, to push the edge of the envelope. We don't accept complacency from among our own ranks, and you can be sure we don't accept it on behalf of our customers. At IRIS Technologies, thrilling the customer with our exceptional products and outstanding service is not the ultimate goal--it's only square one.

The ultimate goal for us at IRIS Technologies is to make things easy for our customers. Above all this is what we strive for, and what we do extremely well. It's simple to use our products. Our manuals and instructions are sensible and easy to understand. Dealing with every department in our company, from the sales people to the technical support staff, is painless. No matter whom you reach on the telephone, you're on the line with the right person to help you, without suffering through a series of frustrating transfers.

Those are just a few of the reasons our customers are more than buyers--they're fans. They're fans of our efficiency, our accessibility and our friendliness, which are things that also happen to make IRIS Technologies a fantastic place to work. We have a great day every day here at IRIS Technologies, and we challenge ourselves to make sure our customers do as well.

IRIS Technologies has a long history of accepting and conquering challenges. The company was founded in 1987 when its President and CEO, Jerry Salandro, recognized the parallel growth of the video and personal computer industries in the technology and information explosion of the 70s and 80s. Changes during those two decades forever altered the human capacity to create, view, distribute and analyze information. As video, audio, data and print began to merge into multimedia, the "convergence" industry was born.

By the late 1980s, multimedia and convergence were buzzwords, but IRIS Technologies was perfectly poised to realize that, as we stand astride the brink between the age of technology and the age of information, the most significant challenge facing the communications world is connectivity. The obvious need was to empower any user, no matter what his level of technical training, to control connectivity. IRIS Technologies recognized that in the coming Information Age, all users--from educators and students to producers and corporate executives--would need the ability to route, connect, control or simply view the infinite amount of information generated by the convergence industry. The company met that challenge with the Video Commander, which made connectivity as simple as the touch of a finger or the click of a mouse.

IRIS Technologies is not just breaking new ground on the technological front--it's also giving rise to a unique corporate environment. Lots of companies out there profess that "the people here make the company;" IRIS Technologies is one of the few that genuinely take steps to act on that belief. With a corporate philosophy that insists not only on nurturing but also on engaging and challenging its employees, IRIS Technologies has become a company where passion and creativity are arrows in every employee's quiver. And it shows--not only in the product and in customer satisfaction, but also in the employees themselves.

IRIS Technologies team members so thrive in this dynamic and stimulating work environment that they create an energy of their own, which, in turn, becomes a driving force in the company.

The products and the passion, the customers, the company and the team are all caught up in the energy at IRIS Technologies. Call it synergy. Call it a vortex of creativity. You can even call it a full head of steam.

Whatever you call it, it's working very, very well here at IRIS Technologies. And we're having an awful lot of fun doing it.
