IRIS Technologies is a privately held company that develops, produces, sells, services and supports PC-based control hardware and Windows-based software for the diverse communications market. Our software and hardware systems enable users to manage, access and control communications devices and to distribute, connect or route signals to and from these devices. VCRs, DVD player/recorders, cameras, CD and laser disc players, audio cassette recorders, satellite receivers, modulators, electronic test equipment and much more can all be managed by the company's unique, patented system. We market our system as a combination of software and hardware under our flagship product, the Video Commander--the world's first icon-based device routing system, operable from anywhere in the world. But we're not stopping there.

IRIS Technologies has a long history of accepting and conquering challenges. The company was founded in 1987 when its President and CEO, Jerry Salandro, recognized the parallel growth of the video and personal computer industries in the technology and information explosion of the 70s and 80s. Changes during those two decades forever altered the human capacity to create, view, distribute and analyze information. As video, audio, data and print began to merge into multimedia, the "convergence" industry was born.

By the late 1980s, multimedia and convergence were buzzwords, but IRIS Technologies was perfectly poised to realize that, as we stand astride the brink between the age of technology and the age of information, the most significant challenge facing the communications world is connectivity. The obvious need was to empower any user, no matter what his level of technical training, to control connectivity. IRIS Technologies recognized that in the coming Information Age, all users--from educators and students to producers and corporate executives--would need the ability to route, connect, control or simply view the infinite amount of information generated by the convergence industry. The company met that challenge with the Video Commander, which made connectivity as simple as the touch of a finger or the click of a mouse.
